Zina Brown’s journey is a compelling narrative of resilience, compassion, and an unwavering pursuit of happiness.
Born and raised in a rural town in Indiana, against the backdrop of her father’s diligent toil as a hardworking coal miner, Zina’s formative years were shaped by the sturdy foundations of industriousness and perseverance.
In her adolescence, Zina lived as an only child with her mother, endeavoring as an adult to build a strong bond with three sisters.
Raised by her maternal grandparents until the age of eight, she cultivated a profound sense of empathy and compassion, fostered by her close bond with her developmentally disabled aunt, her steadfast companion from childhood until her passing in 2022.
Self-Discovery and Growth
With a fervent desire to script her narrative and shatter generational cycles, Zina embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth upon relocating to the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. It was here that she found her true calling. However, life took an unforeseen turn when her husband was diagnosed with Systemic Scleroderma and Raynaud’s Syndrome, prompting another relocation, this time to Houston, Texas, where she assumed the role of his unwavering support and advocate.
Despite the adversities encountered, Zina’s indomitable spirit remains unyielding. Celebrating more than 33 years of marriage, she finds profound joy in her role as a loving fur mom (a love of all creatures she inherited from her bonus mom), and a devoted and nurturing bonus mom, alongside cherished grandchildren who infuse her life with laughter and love.

Passion and persistence intertwine seamlessly in the realm of entrepreneurship, where Zina emerges as a positive force. With a fervent dedication to her endeavors, Zina’s professional journey is defined by relentless hard work and an unwavering commitment to instigate positive transformations.
As an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Coach, Business Leader, Volunteer, and Elected Board Member across diverse peer groups, private entities, and non-profit organizations, she imparts her unique perspective and exceptional leadership acumen, igniting catalytic growth and nurturing thriving community ecosystems.
Personal Interests
Beyond her professional pursuits, Zina finds solace and exhilaration in the tapestry of life’s adventures. An ardent scuba diver and motorcycle enthusiast, she revels in the adrenaline rush of exploration and discovery. With a profound affection for animals and the great outdoors, coupled with a fervent passion for sports, she delights in partaking in a recreational softball league when time permits.
Zina’s insatiable deeply-held belief in the transformative power of empathy propels her to engage with diverse perspectives, firmly convinced that communication and compassion are the linchpins of a better world. In moments of serene introspection, Zina finds solace in the soul-stirring melodies of George Benson, whose acoustic guitar works resonate deeply within her being.

At HeyZina, I believe in giving back to our community. While my primary focus is on providing exceptional moderation services, I also strive to do good through rescue missions, mentoring programs, and other meaningful activities as realistically as time allows. That’s why I am committed to dedicating my time and expertise to non-profit organizations each month, offering free emcee or moderation services for their events.
